ive got a deal on a motor and am goin to look at sometime this week, its from a 91' 240 and was auto which means it went through less abuse... the previous owner swapped it out for an sr and is my a buddy of mine...

so ive been going to this new local meet and have gotten a good connect for OE and nismo parts, and talked to another guy that has a s14 blacktop and a 55 shot of nitrous that told me n my friends that if we just get the parts for a ka-t build he will helps us hook it up free of charge!!

so this has gotten me thinkin, since im gunna be doing a ka build anyways, maybe i could just throw in a oil return bung on the oil pan and buy t25, manifold and so on...the only real thing holding me back is the local cops... but most the guys at the meet are ka-t or sr'd and dont have a problem...

Keep s*** subtle and you won't have a problem. No straight piping it. Don't get a loud a** bov; recirculate it possibly? No loud exhaust (you don't need a huge muffler tip). And don't rail it around town. Be smart about it and really they'll have no reason to pull you over. Make sure all lights are functioning and they don't pull you over for stupid s*** and youll be

yea as long as your car isnt too flashy, loud, or attention grabbing im sure the cops (or anyone for that matter) will look twice at it. just make it sleeper but nice to keep a low profile.

sleeper style is more flashy than those who show off their s*** like nothing... cuz when you pop that hood and its turboed and no one expects it, that flashy in the sleeper style way...

so i guess ill be lookin for turbo parts at the meet next time...

I have a KA-t running 12psi on forged low compression pistons 80,000 ago, she runs good and pulls really hard plus KA's are reliable, tons of parts, easy to work on. KA!!

i agree 100% that ka's are strong and pretty reliable... with my rebuild im gunna use oe 9.5 pistons and oe piston rings, put new rod and main bearings, new valves and valve springs, upper and lower timing chain, and gasket kit...

for turbo parts ill go with top mount t25, sr downpipe, smic, recirc. bov, 370cc injectors, and probably enthalpy tune and safc...

Some areas maybe different with cops, but I would go with the low profile and re-built the KA.

Cops here in the valley will give any excuse to pull me over. Its the reason why I bought a daily car and reitred my car from the streets.

race a bone stock nissan 200sx 2.0 sr and race a 2.4 bone stock 240sx and guess who wins....The ka....Ask me how i know...The sr is a pos motor that comes turbo. If your not to mechanically incline then you will need a sr swap basically plug and play turbo. Always remember torque wins races hp is for bragging. READ MY SIG.

you can do a nice ka-t install for around 1k give or take... the sr20 costs 1500 alone and doesnt come with everything you need so that by the time you do your at about 2300 in the hole...

the ka is 2.4L w/ 89mm (3.5") pistons... the sr has mostly smaller internals... the ka-t can pack a punch and handle whatever you can throw at it with the right tune and parts...

not gonna get into the ka-t vs sr but they each have their upsides and downsides in the end its all up to your personal taste i happen to be going ka-t because 2.4>2.0

Are you worried about emissions? OR just getting pulled over?
