Folks, I am occasionally guilty of this too, but ...

A place for intelligent and well-thought-out discussion involving politics and associated topics. No nonsense will be tolerated at all.

Please stop the personal attacks.

I am teensy bit guilty of this too, but I have apologized on occasion, and am making an effort to stop the negativity and post positive things about the candidate that I have decided I must support.

Let's set the standard here, everybody! Let's discuss the posts, and, yes, you can be hard on the content.

But, no personal attacks and irrational flames, please.

Thanks for listening,

Z

I've spend a great deal of time editing a few threads for inappropiate content. Z is absolutely right, there is no room for name calling. I've got a few options available to me to stop the name calling and I may turn to them, however, I'd rather we just attacked what a person said, or even a politician, but not another poster.

Attack a person's logic, their position or their candidate, but not that person.

Thanks Z.

I completely agree.

This forum is a great thing, let's not screw it up by tearing each other to shreds.

If you can't have a friendly-but-heated discussion about your personal politics and leave it all on the table when you're done, that probably says something less than flattering about you.

It's just politics.

As you may or may not have noticed, I haven't posted much in this forum for about a month. This is EXACTLY why.

Part of what's wrong with our country is that, not only can we not refrain from personal attacks at our elected officials/candidates, but it seems like in this forum especially we feel that insulting someone's intellect/education/parentage is a valid substitute for addressing a question with a direct, supported response.

Thank you, Z, for making this thread.
