I wanted to put a CB into my 240 but I did not want to have an extra antenna on my car when I wasnt using the CB. So i came up with an idea to make an antenna that folds into the engine bay. I used some scrap metal, a ball mount, and a whip that i used to have on a truck.

First I cut out some scrap metal.

Then I drew out the design for the mount on the metal so i could cut it out.

It took a little trimming and bending to get around the clutch MC and the little green box.

Test fit before the mount.

This is the ball mount that i used. I got it from radio shack.

The setup finished with the bent whip.

This is the antenna folded down into the bay.

This is the completed antenna set up. It turned out really sturdy and barely moves in the wind. And the best part is i can fold it down when im not using it.

Well around here a lot of people use CBs in either their truck or car so its really handy to use with your friends like a walkie talkie. Also there is a lot of places where cell service sucks so you can still talk when you need too. And talking to truckers is fun...they are crazy. This is georgia...so just watch smokey and the bandit. Its a lot like that..
