Never having had fog lights on any car I have owned or driven, I don't really know the first thing about them. What are the drawbacks to getting them aftermarket as opposed to OEM? The obvious on the plus side is the cost. Are there any other benefits?

As the name describes, fog lights they help you see better in rain, snow, fog.... The main difference between OEM and aftermarket is the price. For OEM you will be paying for them to be automatically turned on when u turn you head lights on. With aftermarket they will be hooked up to a switch and you can control when you want them on/off. Aftermarket you can get at just about anywhere for around $20 if you want a little more expensive pair get them.

With you aftermarket lights, you may have some fabrication depending on how clean and integrated a look you're willing to accept. With OEM, they're "plug-n-play". Just screws and clips. There is a how-to for DIY lights. If you're comfortable with all that's involved there, you can save a few bucks.

I had fogs on some cars and I like them for twilight driving. As their beam is wider and generally less intense, they're great for other drivers to see your car. This light pattern also reflects less off of fog which means you can see more under low visibility conditions. You'll also see some people have yellow fog lights, or a yellow covering. Yellow light affords better contrast then white or blue light. This allows you to see even better.

Could you tell me any brand of aftermarket fogs that have a nice, clean fit?
