I have no idea, but if you used a low cost substitute for one of those fairly pricey headlight restoration kits, I'm very interested in finding out because *clearly* it worked very well..

Nice!!
Best I've found is 3M Plastic Cleaner....I just googled and they have some new stuff.
Also, Meguiar's Plastx does good, but doesn't turn a cloth yellow like the 3M does

Crest Pro-Health.

:rotfl

I had gotten an email that said toothpaste would work good on them. I couldn't believe what good results I got. I used a free sample that I got from the dentist. I need to seal them with some Zaino now.

I wish I had taken before and after pics of this car. Y'all wouldn't believe the results I have gotten without having to spend too much $$$. I'm kinda proud of myself.

Hi - most headlights can be rejuventated if they're not too "foggy", with toothpaste - I think gel types work better because they are silica loaded, but I've heard you can use the white paste types. It's cheaper than the kits (but then the kits aren't very expensive). There's a summary here of how to do it with toothpaste: http://www.headlight-restorer.com

Nice work, Becki. Sorry you're going through this.

I dunno about the kits not being very expensive. Most are around $20. Toothpaste is readily available at Dollar General, etc, for one or two bucks. The kits don't work that great in my experience. Am going to try toothpaste and a PC 7424 on the '93 F150.

Packaging looks different than what I have, but when I run out I'll try this 3m for 5.99

Have not used that one, but Meguiars has a plastic cleaner as well, did not clean up the lights on the F150. Was going to try at least a patch test with toothpaste yesterday or today for Becki's edification, but storm prep pre-empted.

But the generator has fresh oil and starts up readily. Ten gallons of gas on hand in cans, plus forty gallons in Ol' Blue if I need to start siphoning.

Best of luck to all along the seaboard.

I tried the toothpaste suggestion this past weekend on my wife's 2003 G35. Albeit, the haze was light, the Ole Colgate and a buffing wheel made them look brand new again. Thanks for the suggestion, NICO! :yesnod

Glad it worked. I put Zaino on my headlights of my Z. Hopefully they will never get that way.
