Thanks man!Ibarr wrote:should definitely check their stuff out. here's gforever's car domain and his is real nice. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3136491
Yeah I don't have any fogs right now. I bought my car straight stock, but its an 08 so I can just take off the removable cover for the lamps. How much do projectors cost? any recommendations?gforever wrote:Hey guys, the thread IBarr was referring to is here: zerothread?id=339951
I have some more pictures on my cardomain page. Pictures specific to the fog lights can be found on page 3 though you will need to scroll down a bit to see them.
My '07 bumper didn't have any fog light covers, it was just one piece with the bumper and the fog light area was sealed. I had to take the entire bumper off (That was fun....) and drill out the bumper to make holes to put in the fog lights.
Getting the switch into the car was such a pain because of the way Nissan placed their air intake bucket. That thing just wouldn't come out but my WRX buddy was a huge help with the install.
We ended up going from the inside out. We pushed the firewall's grommet off to the side a bit and put in the wirehanger though, fished the wires and pull it in. Took 2 tries but the wires got through! The wires had to be cut and re-attached with connectors. For the halos, the wires were very thin so we just used electrical tape.
What's weird is that the halos need cycle through 35 seconds and flash like crazy before you can use them. They advertised 7 halo colors on eBay but I only got 3. I really wished the yellow would come up.
One of the lens got cracked before I even got the wires installed so durability isn't so well. The quality of the switch looks super cheap as you have 3 buttons, left is to cycle through the halo colors, middle for on/off, and right for the actual fog lights.
Recommendation, if you have stock fogs, keep them, it was a lot of work to get these on. But since I didn't have fogs, the car just looked weird without them due to the bumper design.
You might want to give the projector ones a try. Those look really nice.

The dealer (at least the 5 I went to) will not install the fog lights for you because Nissan does not have an accessory kit for the B16 Sentras. 3 years later and they still do not have a fog light accessory kit. I ended up getting the halo kit cause it looked cool but the new projector fogs I see on eBay look even better! But I don't want to go through the trouble of doing the fog light install again so I'll just leave it for now unless I get bored in the summer. hahadgreen29 wrote:from what i hear its a pain in the a** to drill the holes for them if your sentra does not come stock with them. Also i can tell you from experience that the bumper is not the easiest to get off either, so if you dont have much experience I would recommend just taking it to the dealership and having them install some OEM fogs, it would raise the value of your car as well.
what are some good hologens you'd reccomend? or at least fog kits. I seen one for about 50 + shipping on ebay by blinglights.gforever wrote:

Faja wrote:The problem with these lights are that they are just generic lights and don't have the proper mounting brackets for your bumper. You can go to Walmart and get a similar set for about $30-$40 but you're gonna have a helluva time trying to put them on properly. They have some that are OEM clones on Ebay that will fit similar to stock but they are a little more expensive around $100.
There are no clips, that's why you will have a hard time mounting aftermarket fogs. There is a plastic splashguard under the car and also in the fenderwells that you have to remove or loosen to remove the bumper.Ibarr wrote:Cool. I'ma check that. Yeah, I was thinking was gonna saw it off with a small electric one. Also, I called one of my friends at Nissan and he said there should be clips, but I couldn't find 'em at all.
Faja, did the 09 have a black pastic cover underneath the bumper?
So regardless of how I install my fogs, I'd have to remove my bumper? And the splashguard, would I have to remove that entirely as well?Faja wrote:

How long did it take to unscrew the bumper from the fender? Oh, and the screws on my splashguard are real difficult to take out. It's those push screws where the other side expands so that the splashguard is really secure.Faja wrote:Removing the bumper will make it a lot easier. Also the bottom splashguard will have to be taken out and the ones around the wheels can just be loosened at the front part so you can pull out the bumper and access the screw that is attaching bumper to fender. There is only one on each side at the very tip.
