My Armada came without fog lights and in their place are thoes hideous black plastic knob looking thingys. I was going to install a set myself and i was going to wire them straight to the headlight wires so when they go on, the fog lights go on. That way i don't need a new switch and have to change a bunch of other things on the car. I first asked my dealer about the fog lights last month and they said that they couldn't install them because of all the things they would have to do to the car and that you can only get them from the factory with fog lights. So i figured, i dont need a switch for the fog lights... ill just wire them to the headlights. Is this an okay thing to do?

I would suggest placing them on their own switch. That way if you want them off, you can at least do that.

So Timmbo do you have any idea how extensive would this install be with the factory switches and lights. Aren't they already wired?

You know what you should do, is check the wiring in the Factory Service Manual. Here is a link:

When you order the lights, they come with the switch assembly, that replaces your current light switch. Install is about 5~10 minutes, with a screw driver and 10mm socket.

You need to be sure to order them with the correct switch (if you have auto headlamps, or not).

That's it! I got mine from GregV (www.gspec.com) for ~$150 shipped.
