Alright so I bought some of those 'awesome' $20 fog lights from Advance Auto, and I've run into a problem. I've been trying to find a way to run the wire into the cabin so I can use the switch provided to turn them on and off, you know. But I can't find a good spot to run the wire through.

I've done some searching and found that you can run it through where the hood release cable comes through, but I can't seem to figure out how that works. Is there some way to pull back the seal around the hood release cable without tearing/breaking it?

As you can see, I've been trying to pull it back with my fingers, but I'm having trouble.

Also, how would I splice the power cable into the ACC part of my fuse box. I'm assuming if i splice it in there, I will have to have at least my driving lights on and then can flip the switch to turn the fogs on and off? Is there a better place to hook it up to?

That doesn't work. It just squishes, and doesn't come out at all. Would it be really bad to just cut it out? Probably, if I don't want water in my dash/cabin..

small screw driver actually through the hole pushing down on the lip on the inside, instead of just prying on rubber. my .02. maybe use your hand pulling on the rubber boot at the same time, lube always helps.

I bought $17 walmart cheapos and i ran the wires along the firewall (above the clutch hardline) to the little hole next to the master brake cylinder. Then i routed the wire inside the cabin, behind all the pedals and steering column to a switch in my center console.....

sorry if that didnt make any sense .... i can post pics if you like.

I ran it like this, follow the red wires. (this was before i cleaned it up with te black tubes.) Then through this hole near my clutch master cylinder. Closer: Where it goes to: Then i ran it through the center console to the square opening next to the lighter:( i know it looks ricer-ish, i dont care, as long as it works...)

Good luck!(finished product)

Thanks for all your help guys (especially Chris) ! They're all hooked up and look awesome. I did end up going through that one hole I was having trouble with.

Chris, I also got them to be able to be turned on independent of the headlights themselves. It was just another one of the slots in that same fuse in the box. I'm almost positive it isn't a constant drain on the battery, because the switch is only lit up when it's in the on position.

I can post finished pics if you guys want, but as I'm sure you're all aware, it's really nothing spectacular. I don't have the grills in the bumper so I had to go a different mounting route, and they're not all like everyone else's. I guess that kinda pleases me since it's not the same as all the others.
