Fog light switch

Was wondering for those of you that have foglights, when you turn the on switch for just the fogs without the headlights on, if they come on? Or do you have to have all the lights on before they are able to come on.

if they dont, Is there a way to wire them to come on only, without the headlights or driving lights?

They only come on with the headlights. Would take some rewiring in the switch probably, and wouldn't be the easiest thing to do.

It's pretty difficult to rewire the fog switch because the lights are wired through the BCM (body control module) via canbus type wiring.Cutting and splicing could cause some MAJOR issues with the BCM and would definitely void your warranty.

Undo your fog lights' wiring. Ground them to chassis if they aren't already. Rewire them independent of the car's factory wiring.

ground (–) ---- light --------------- generic on/off switch ---- fuse/fuse holder ---- battery (+)

In some cars you could pull the fog light relay and create a jumper to make it possible to use factory switch to turn on the fog independently of the headlights. I am not familiar with how the Versa is wired and don't see any need to have just the fog lights on, but the above is probably the easiest brute force way to achieve it.

Don't they come on with the parking lights?
