I read the how to on installing aftermarket fog lamps but it didn't answer a couple of my questions. First off, how stable is the mounting area behind the plastic covers? I was going to purchase some aftermarket fogs (some LED ones) and install them in the factory locations. I'm perfectly comfortable with cutting the plastic to make space for them, but I'm afraid there isn't much behind there to mount them to. I've never been one to mount aftermarket fogs directly to the plastic bumper cover because it usually results in the lights bouncing while turned on which gives your car a real "ricey" look from a distance. Is there a particular type of bracket that would allow the fogs to mount easily to the car frame and still be positioned properly? Anyway, second question: I really wanted the factory fogs but there wasn't a single Versa on the dealership lot with the factory fogs installed. So the question is this: If I were to install aftermarket fogs (or even factory ones for that matter), where is the factory switch located? I would prefer to purchase the switch from the dealer and install it in the factory location, but I can't tell where it would go. Is it integrated into the regular headlight switch somehow? Also, if anyone else has done this, does anyone know the part number for the switch and if any other components need to be purchased?

I did the write up, and the bumper is plenty sturdy to mount on if you screw onto it properly. But why waste your money on LED fogs, they are basically for looks, and give you next to no output what so ever. If anything you should get something better than LED fogs. Let me know if you need any help or some ideas on some nice fogs to throw on the V!

Hey Clipsed, I would also like to get some fogs, so which ones would you recommend. From what I've seen, most people hate the BlingBling from eBay. I don't wanna spend more than 50$ on them and you have to keep in mind that some products are not available in Canada...

Anyway, some stats or brands I should look for ?

Also, does anybody know if the wiring is present in a SL, but for the Canadian model ? I couldn't find them...

Hella Micro DE's are AWESOME, a lot of my buddies use em, and the output is nice.

As bigdog said, Pilots are also nice, and they are actually $40 not $20, I had them on my Versa.

Some really nice fogs but up in range a lil more are REAL Blazer projector fogs which are around $75.

for a lil more money Martin, there are some better choices, but for $50 I would recommend the Pilot fogs I used from Autozone.

lol my bad I made a mistake, I meant the cheapy blazer fogs, they are $40, not the pilot fogs. here is a link of the product, not sure where you could find them in Canada though.

Those Pilots I am sure would work too, but I personally like the blazer projector fogs, because the light output is quite intense due to the projector and bowl combo.

Alright, it turns out my local Canadian Tire has those fog lights in stock:http://www.canadiantire.ca/bro...ct_aaAnd there is this model alsohttp://www.canadiantire.ca/bro...=true

But do those "bowl" lights fit as well as flat-faced fog lights ?

It would be up to you to decide that, I really liked how my fogs looked, and had no problem with the ~1/3 inch small gap it left in the bezel to the actual foglamp assembly.

You decide for yourself.

Clipsed, they do look nice, but the 1 centimeter gaps are kind of a turn off for me. Therefore, I ordered the same fog lights as c5neb and ShusterVision. Should get them in a week or so !

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...97687As I said, ShusterVision and c5neb seem to like them and are very convincing.

I checked in order to answer myself and the canadian SL Versa has the wiring already done for the fog lights, just like the american model. I'll be using this wiring in order to install my fogs.

yeah having the factory harness already ready to go for the fogs is a nice touch. It saves a great deal of hassle. The most expensive part would be to just get the switch at the turn signal.
