Alright I'm wanting to switch the parking lights with the blinkers. I want to make the stock blinkers stay on when the headlights are on. And I want the parking lights to be the blinkers. I have some new extra bright 19 led bulbs for the bottom blinkers so I can have them as the running lights. I just need a push in the right direction. Can I just simply switch the 2 lines or will that mess with the ecu? I know that if the bottom blinkers are not drawing the right amount of power the ecu will think they are bad and won't blink at all. I do have some resistors specifically for that for the led bulbs I have. Anyone have any ideas?

nevermind i figured it out. had to switch the two lines and add a resistor. this is exactly the look i wanted

Might want to get yellow bulbs for the turn signals.
Here in Texas you would get pulled over with a Quickness !!

There's a lot of crime in Southern California especially in my area. The cops have a lot better to do than worry about blinkers here

Care to explain a little more about the swap? Want to know more about the resistor.

The turn signal lines need to draw a certain amount of power. If the ecu doesnt detect the right ammount of power it wont blink at all. So I ran a 25Watt 6Ohm Resistor ( Load Equalizer ) In parallel with the bulb that I used for the turn signal since it is now a smaller bulb and it uses less power. Plus I'm using an led bulb and LEDs use less power than regular bulbs.
For the swap I just cut the 2 different lines and swapped them.

Thank you. I am planning on swapping doing exactly what you did, except for putting some higher power bulbs in the new fog location. I plan on using a relay, so I think I will need load resistors for both the turn signals and the corner/fog lights.

My project is to retrofit a pair of projectors into the the old turn signals (foglights) and throw some 3000k yellow HIDs in em.

well you cant really tell in the pics the difference between then and now but the new ones are much brighter and look like projection lights. the people sent me two different colors which for some reason you also cant tell in the pics. one is bright white and one is a blueish white so i emailed them about it to get a replacement. other than that the only complaint is about the lenses on the car itself. i wish it were clear instead of all the groves that are in them. the lights are still bright enough to illuminate street signs pretty well from a pretty good distance withough the headlights.

From my understanding, you cut and swap the harnesses with the corner lights provided you add resistors (to the blinkers) to trick the ECU into to thinking the bulbs aren't burnt out.

I think the corner lights are around 5W and the blinkers are 25W, hence the need for a resistor when swapping places.

you need the cut the wires for the corner lights and cut the wires for the front bottom lights and swap them.
i did this right under the hood at the corners and used butt connecters to connect everything together. you also need a load equalizer for the blinker line. the bulb for the corner light uses less power than the origional 1156 bulb and when it doesnt draw enough current the computer thinks the bulb is out and will not work or it wont work correctly. the j30 needs a 25w 6Ohm load equilizer on each side in parallel with the bulb. i got mine on ebay for $10.
if you cant figure out how to install the load equalizer theres plenty of videos on youtube.

im going through many types of bulbs to make mine just right and heres what ive come up with so far:

for the corner (now my blinkers): leds are not the way to go with the corner lights. it needs a bulb to fill the whole fixture with light properly. the white leds looked ok at night but you couldnt see it durring the day. so i tried yellow/amber leds and they are not bright at all. i just put the origional 168 bulb in it and since its a bulb its not too white and just yellow enough to look good.it also puts out a good amount of light for night and day.

for the front bottom lights (now my fog lights): ive tried a 19 led bulb and though its good for looks it just doesnt put out enought light. i did some reserch and found out there are hids for the 1156 bulbs but there at least $65 and thats from china. im not willing to pay that much. i bought some 5w cree led lights and i love them. they are led lights with a magnifying lense on them so they are very bright and they look and act like projection lights. im going upgrade to some 25w cree bulbs which will be even brighter. there the last best bulbs before hids. ill post more pics when i finally get them.

if ya have any more questions feel free to ask.

i just have the stock bulb, stock connectors in my corner light to house the turn signal. havent seen any reason to do the led lights for it cause the stock amber bulb is plenty bright. i physically moved the harness up to the corner lights and have my H1 3k 35W HIDs getting signal from the side markers and powers on the relay harness i have in place. same for my 55w 6k low beams, i have the stock harness supply signal to relay harness for those as well.

Just wired all 4 of my side markers to blink with the turn signals. They stay on with the running but also blink with the turn signals. You just cut the ground wire of the side markers and splice it into the positive wire of the turn signal. Here's a schematic: Image
Ill post a video when I get a chance to take one.

Here's a video of all my light mods for now. I still want to make some angel eyes and I want to wire break lights into the middle panel between the rear lights.
