Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't fog lamps supposed to replace headlights in foggy conditions to reduce the glare? Assuming I am correct, why do you have to have your headlights on in order to turn on your fog lamps? This is what I must do in my 2006 g35 according to the owner's manual. Is there any way to change things so the fog lamps can be operated independently?

probably have to splice into the wiring...which i wouldn't suggest doing cause it could void your warrant for things like headlights...etc...which can be really expensive

It seems like most newer cars are like this, my Passat & A6 were like this as is my wife's PT cruiser.

I don't know if I would admit to owning a PT Cruiser. Even if it is your wifes car. Maybe it's better to say your wifes "domestic vehicle".

Someone had to give you a hard time.....
