i am going to be doing a ka2det.

this is my setup i was thinking:

t25/28 hybrid turboss autochrome manifoldss autochrome turbo elbowblitz dpblitz nur-spec exhausts13 oem smicblitz intakesr20 370cc injectorsapexi s-afc2walbro fuel pump300zx tt fuel filter

it will be running at 7psi.

and this is my question to you guys.will it be possible for me to keep the stock 270cc injectors and just use a 9:1 FMU and be able to boost and drive fine? or will it be worth my money just to get the sr20 injectors and the s-afc2 first?

thanks in advance

The 8/1 FMU will be good for boost levels up to 8 psi.

so do you think i should get the 8:1 FMU? or get 370cc injectors and the s-afc2 first?

is it more reliable to get the injectors and s-afc2 to controll it?

I would do exactly what I'm doing right now. I have the 8/1 FMU and am using it for 8 psi until I get my other stuff all straightened out and I'm ready for big boost. If your only boosting 8psi then the FMU is great. No tuning to worry about, just bolt it on and go.

if i got the s-afc2 will i be able to use the 270cc injectors and tune it using the afc and be ok with 7psi? or if i get the s-afc do i have to get injectors?

With stock injectors your going to need the FMU, with the SAFC I'd use a set of 42lbers. Or a set of used 370's from EBAY, but I hate used crap.

this may seem like a dumb question, but how do you know what size FMU to use? I've heard 7,8, or 9 for turbo ka, but I want to put one on my M30.

I would wait until I had the cash for a real fuel managment system. EMS,JWT etc. FMU's work for some, but in general its just a band aid when it comes to fuel managment and I would shy away from it.Do it right from the start or take your chances and spend more money later.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but i dont want tot make a whole new one over my question. I am looking at the Nsport kit. The Nsport kit comes w/ a 8:1 FMU right?. If and when i want to turn up the boost,What would i need in order to boost more?

bigger injectors , s-afc2 , wideband to tune to make sure its safe and not run lean.

well that is true, but in the case of my M30 I'll only be running a few lbs of boost (just needs a tad more HP, that with the 5 sp swap should give me what I'm looking for) and there is 0 aftermarket support for my car (and pretty much my engine). So I'm thinking FMU can step up the fuel pressure, my car has all brand new factory nissan fuel hoses, injectors, and seals, and I will be replacing the fuel pump with one from a 300zx turbo, so I should be good to go.
