title said it all, I set my fuel pressure on my afpr(megan, been just fine for years), installed the fmu (vortech not s***) and as soon as I turn the key over it shoots fuel pressure to 85psi

could the fmu be busted? or is something else a miss?

any help would be nice I finish the oil pan in the morning and want to do a test run.

Thanks

Joshua

Idk.. have you tried simply readjusting your FPR and see if that holds your fuel pressure where it needs to be?

I have no experience with FMUs just tryen to help.

Either the lines are mixed up or the FMU is trashed.

when they go bad what normally happens?

any help to keep me from buying a new one or a new disc would be great!

not really much to go wrong with a fmu....if you have it hooked up correctly and its not working then the fmu is trashed. Open her up to see if the disc is broken or something obvious is a miss.

What...you don't like 85psi of static fuel pressure

no no that wouldnt bother me if I was still running the sohc ecu tuned, I was at close to that before(months and months of abuse) and I'm sure beyond with spikes to 13psi, lets see, 77base with vac so about 81 before boost plus 11psi, so roughly 92 psi under boost

maybe I didnt turn the afpr down enough(shrugs), getting one bolt out of the oil pan at a time due to rain

ok guys I took the entire unit apart, whoever took it apart before me should be beaten/

now with that said, I believe the base pressure is now being set by my afpr(like it should) I turned the key to on and I will be damned it was at the last setting I had.

I will try to figure out the not wanting to start on its own in the morning? any thoughts?

I have to apply throttle inputs to get it started and thats a crap shoot

Maybe it fouled the plugs when you tried to start it with 80psi of fuel pressure ....throw a new set of plugs in it....if the disk looked that messed up buy another one off ebay or get a new disk.

yeah I thought it was gonna work but it failed shortly after .....

going to buy one asap, atm the car doesnt even want to run, I have to floor it to start the fn thing. doesnt really wanna stay running after I let off, and the thing is cutting out while driving ou of boost, the plugs were not too bad honestly...
