So my brother thought it would be a good idea to get a bottom mount hks cast manifold and now look at my clearance issues with the steering joint. Time to brainstorm something creative or abandon the manifold.. this is an rb25 in an s13..Image

Well, that wouldve been a decent idea to begin with, but its one of those things youll never know about until you actually try it and see the clearance issues for yourself.. Besides, i had my welder buddy completely fab the perfect downpipe.. Im looking at getting a less bulky (universal) steering joint and hoping that will give me a little more space.. Potentially using a few washers under the motor mount to lift that side of the engine a 1/4" as well, as long as that doesnt cause any unecessary trans alignment issues.. Im really trying my best to not scrap this manifold..Image

HA! That manifold rears its ugly head again! I think there have been a few that have been passed around but never work because of the steering shaft issue. Abandon it and sell it to a guy with a RHD setup or a guy with a GTS-T in Canada, eh? Either put the stock one back on there or buy a quality manifold and not ebay junk. It will save you lots of heart ache down the road. I'm not sure what your power goals are, but the stock log manifold is plenty big for 400+ hp.
