I've scoured past forums and related topics but can't find a good solution for FMIC for a RB25DET in an S13. The hybrid kit looks good, but the problem is my stock 240SX front bumper. Has anyone installed a FMIC with the stock 240SX front bumper? It has a FMIC on it right now, but only the bottom 1/3 is getting any airflow and there isn't enough room to do anything. I dunno, is anyone else running a FMIC with a stock 240SX bumper, or do i just need a new aero bumper?

You shouldn't worry about spending $$$$ for an aero bumper when a little bit of quality time with a dremel tool will serve you well! I know of quite a few folks using the Hybrid kit with the stock bumper who simply cut out a portion of the bumper to provide more airflow to the intercooler. I'm in the midst of my RB swap right now and I'll be using the Hybrid kit with a modified OEM bumper. If you look on zilvia.net on the most recent page of the chat section, there's a thread going on right now with pics of modified OEM bumpers.

BTW, welcome to NICO!

i cut the bottom lip or pirce off my bumper and for the metal bumper i used an oxy acetelene torch (gas axe) to cut a hole into it for the tubing.

you can use the metal bumper support with some intercoolers, some it just takes a little cutting to fit around some i guess it might be impossible but it depends on the intercooler size and mounting location

I had to cut more than a lip to do mine... I had to cut into the back of the Reinforcement, but some people make it but just cutting the lip. I used a sawzaw and cut it and it tucks nicely.

I didnt want to completely remove the bumper support so i was able to only remove some of it with some quality hacking with and angle grinder and sawsall(I actually raised the IC up about another 2 inches from where it sits in the first picture) and then i cut my bumper cover like so. I have some small fitting issues that can easily be taken care of with a little more cutting, but its nothing too major.
