Hello, as some of you may already know I'm currently getting my blacktop s13 swapped into my 95 240 by Matt and Taylor at Secret Services. (Highly recommend them!!). I bought a GReddy FMIC and need to know if I will need to purchase a slim battery, or if I can still use I stock one? Will the stock one fit still with the new intercooler piping??

thanks

Stock one wont fit. get a battery relocation kit, thats what i did. Probably cost you about the same as a good slim battery. Im not sure if you can get a slim battery that will fit.

Plus it frees up a bunch of room in the bay. and looks cleaner, and evens the weight out closer to 50/50 of the car.

if you will race, i suggest the Moroso battery box, if not, then the summit is good also.

Don't buy the slim battery that HT recommends. I had to take out my washer reservoir. The filler neck, battery and coldpipe didn't all fit next to each other. Get an Odyssey PC980 I think is what it's called.

I have a GReddy kit too BTW.

I actually ordered a taylor made box. Its looked really nice in the picture, comes with 1 gauge wire, and is meets nhra regulations. I will post pics when i get it, hopefully i will have pics by the end of next week, along with my motor.

We have installed 10 of these batteries, and sold more than 50, they fit fine. I think maybe you did not turn the battery on its side. We have no problem making the filler, IC pipe and battery fit fine, check out these pics:

Jeff,that is a pretty tight fit =)

I know it works but... relocating the battery to the trunk costs very little and helps weight distribution aswell.

Is that a small Odessey dry cell battery?

nilsbtw - Tell Yuri I said thx for taking care of my buddy here in Vegas.

Hrm... I never saw anything that said to mount it sideways, but upon closer examination, it does appear that it would work that way. I guess I'm a :tard: I can't say I'm real thrilled with the idea of my battery sitting on it's side though. I am not really missing my reservoir as of right now, so maybe I'll feel the need to tilt it, but I'm too lazy right now.

Thanks for the info Jeff... nice to see you guys mingling within the community.

Those SVR sealed batteries can be mounted in any position, even upside down. I personally have a Diehard in the trunk in a MOROSO sealed box, I agree it's better but a lot harder to install.
