Hey guys,

my FMIC is sitting 1.5" below my stock bumper with a SE front lip. I am wondering if any of you have this problem.

My car is a s14 with a s13 redtop motor.

My intercooler kit is a HKS Type-S for the S13 180SX chassis.

What I am worrying about is scraping the intercooler. I will see what I can do when the car comes back, but the piping on the driver side is for sure sitting really low.

dang...if it's below the lip you're probabl;y gonna bust it up. look at the bottom of your lip and see if it's scraped up...if so then guess what.someone has been hitting stuff. now your IC is gonna take the abuse. personally i don't understand the huge cores that are used so widely. i have a spearco core thats 24"wide x 6.5" tall, and 4" deep and haven't once noticed the cold pipe anything but cold. i'm only running 14psi on an S15 turbo, but really if your turbo is workin hard enough to heat the intake to the point that a "normal" sized intercooler can't do the job...then maybe it's time for a bigger turbo.

i know with my intercooler for my nsport kit i had to cut off and move the middle bracket on that black bumper support part to get my IC to sit up high enough

structure...what are the dimensions of ur intercooler, and do you have any pics of the amount of bumper support u cut? my intercooler is 36(endtank to endtank) by 12 by 5.5. im think about cuttin the bumper support away and then reinforcing around the intercooler with some 1 inch steel (3/16 wall) square tubing to make sure the engine doesnt end up in my lap :D

the intercooler is a greddy four row with 3":D piping. do you notice any difference in body roll with the bumper support gone? its kinda the only thing holding the very front of the car together. what kinda times u throw up in ur 240?Dane

i dont remember if i did notice any body roll. a strut bar would prolly fix that anyway plus a sway bar. only time i have right now is 14.8 with my old fuel system off 8psi and a slipping clutch. the track opens up this week and ill have my injectors back this weekend to hopefully get it on the wideband and start turning up the boost
