when doing fmic piping, where is the best place to put the nipple that sends the signal to the actuator?

Anywhere is fine. The stock SR ic piping has it on the cold pipe. Some FMIC kits have it on the hot pipe. Some upgraded turbos come with the nipple built into the compressor housing only inches from the compressor wheel. This makes the length of the hose between the nipple and wastegate only a couple inches. You can choose what you would like, closer to the compressor will result in less vacuum hose being used.

thanks for the reply.I got another question about intercoolers in general, does it matter which side(inlet/outlet) you use, because the way i am mounting mine- i have to flip it upside down. Do intercoolers flow in specific directions? or does it not matter, its a medium NPR by the way

Shouldn't matter.
