I am getting ready to install my intercooler. What is the easiest way to do it?Is it best to take off the bumper? I started to take it off but I tried getting the bolts off from underneath. Should I go through the wheel well or there an easier way? Oh its a 90sx.

ThanksTony

I took the bumper off. I found it was not difficult to reach the bolts if you put an extension on your extension on your ratchet.

Yeah your best bet is too remove the front bumper...When you install the FMIC, you are most likely going to have to trim the support bumper as well...

take off teh bumper ftw! and if your fmic is too big and trimming just isnt enough for the bumper support... then take the ****er off

yes pull the bumper cover. you'll need to do some fitting on it regardless.

You're going to more than likely have to trim the inside of the bumper, part of the impact bar, and you're going to need to cut out a hole in the battery tray for the cold pipe to come through.

^^^not all piping requires the cutting of the tray but id say a good 80% of the kits ive seen do

yeah when i did mine i only would have had to cut out the center piece of the bumper cover. but i just went ahead and cut it all around basically to make it a big mouth type of front bumper. much better airflow that way too. and with the metal bumper itself, i basically just cut out the middle section of it to the width of the cooler. that was basically all i could do to make it fit again.

getting the bumper off shouldnt be a problem and you should definitely do it so its easir to put the brackets on. just remember all of the nuts that hold the edges of the cover to the fenders, theyre kind of a pain. turn your wheels all the way one way to do one side, and vice versa for the other, to make things a bit easier.

and if you need to cut a hold just find someone with a nice powerful plug-in drill and one of those giant circular bits for cutting wire holes in walls and whatnot. that will still cut through the sheet metal, its not too thick.

a buddy of mine had to cut the metal on his s14 and went through a few cutting wheels, dont know if he was a retard about it or not, but might want to be prepared to replace the wheel once or twice if you are cutting

or get a stronger cutting tool then a "knock-off" dremil
