hey guys so im installing my greddy fmic for my sr20 and when i put the metal part of the bumper back on, it doesnt fit. Am i supposed to trim the bumper to fit it? its off by maybe an inch

if you are talking about the rebar, yes you will have to cut a section out of it to make it work.

You mean the big metal bumper support? Only way I could've gotten mine to fit was by cuting about 2.5-3 ft out of the middle, and just bolt the sides up. That's alot of work though, and I don't think the support would do much help like that in a collision. I just left mine off, it't not worth the hassle.

so do people usually not put it back on? and just run with the plastic?

You can tuck it behind the 5 MPH bumper, but most people are to lazy to maneuver it to fit. Removing structural pieces from the chassis can void some insurance policies as well. I'd try to make it fit without cutting the support.

well i made it fit, but its REAL tight, like if my bumper is hit then my IC core is gunna be crushed

Any front end collision will crush the IC. You'd rather have a crushed IC than radiator support and get a salvage title on your car.
