Ok obviously with the stock SMIC, the hose connects to the factory intercooler piping but when you replace the SMIC with a FMIC where are you guys connecting the hose? Also, the Greddy FMIC comes with a blue vacuum line and a 3-way hose connector, what are you guys using these for?

I think I am going to use the 3-way connector to T off the line going into the BOV and run that blue hose from there to the Wastgate Actuator. Sound good?

I picked up a small nipple from the local hardware store which the included blue hosing fits perfectly. I plan to drill a small hole in the coldpipe and screw it in with teflon seal in order to connect the vacum to it. Not sure what others do, but it's what I have planned anyway :)

I wouldn't think that hooking up the wastegate to the BOV line would be the best solution. It would probably work, but the BOV line comes from behind the throttle plate and therefore get's alot of vaccume in between shifts. I would plumb a nipple on the hot line if I were you because that's stock and therefore "tried and true." On another thought, plumbing the nipple on the cold pipe would enable you to run a slightly higher boost level, because it wouldn't cut boost until there is 7psi after the intercooler as opposed to 7psi before the intercooler. I'm sure you already know about pressure drop and that stuff so I don't need to go into that.

ok, but until i get that nipple put onto the hot pipe or get a new hot pipe what would you recommend?

I'm going off of memory here because I'm not right at my engine for reference, but........

I don't know if yours is in use but there are I think 4 vaccume lines coming off the throttle body. I think the ones on top are on the manifold side of the butterfly and the ones on bottom are on the turbo side of the throttle body. I would just slap it on one of those bottom ones so that you dont have to worry about 20psi of vaccume tugging on your wastegate actuator at idle. I still don't know if the vaccume would hurt anything, but I'd rather be safe and put it on the proper side of the butterfly.

yeah thats what i ended up doing. I ran the new blue hose (from the greddy kit) from the bottom of the throttle body to the "Greddy T-connector" and then from there to the wastgate. I used the cap that WAS on the throttle body to cap the third end of the "T-connector"
