I'm curious to see how much hp both the f-max and nsport kit make. Can anyone tell me or email ([email protected])me a dyno sheet? I've looked around at the FA and zilvia.net boards and saw an f-max 240 running 9lbs that made 239hp and an nsport made that much on 7lbs. Are these pretty accurate? I tried looking through these boards but didn't come up with anything. I'm looking to get one of these kits in the next couple months. I don't want to be mad about the selection that I make. Right now I'm probably swayed towards fmax stage II w/ ball bearing.

I'm looking for hp numbers... I've been to nsport's site and f-max's site about 30 times each. I was looking for first hand experience from people with the kit that have dynoed or run at a track.

Hey Doc Hp numbers not sure becaus eI have not dynoed the car. I do however have the G-Tech pro meter and have used that for all my mods. Since I used it for each one I have an accurate display of how much each mod has improved my performance. My last run before turbo was a 16.3 at 88MPH that was with injen intake with CAE and hotshot headers. When I put the Nsport Kit on running at 6PSI everything else remained stock I ran a 14.8 at 103MPH. Right now I still have the stock exhaust on and I am running the stock injectors which is causing the motor to run lean. I should be getting stage 2 in the mail tomorrow wich includes the bigger in jectors and the arc 2 dedicated fuel controller. After I get those installed and get the right air/fuel ratio I expect to run in the 13's. That is still at 6PSI. Hope this helps with your quest on which turbo kit to choose.

Thanks a bunch wolf. That's the kind of info i've been trying to find. I'm starting to lean more towards nsport now. F-max seems expensive for what it gives you. How is the lag on the t04b? Where did you buy the kit from and for how much?

I ordered mine from Rollhard Perfromance in New Jersey I spent a bit more around $6000 cause I had all the piping and turbo housing custom polished. I recommend not doing this because they just polish the raw piping so within two days of having it in my car I had rust spots. I just recently removed all the piping and polished them with a bench grinder and then custom painted it myself. It came out quite nice. As far as lag goes it spools at 1900 RPM's by 2500 I am getting max boost. It is a ball bearing turbo so the fan blades spin at idle which is nice for quick response. I will keep posting with each mod and set up. Hopefully I will get stage two tomorrow and I will be running in the 13's by Wednesday. Good luck in which ever turbo kit you choose. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I will try to answer all inquiries to the best of my knowledge.

oh one other thing I also have an unorthodox crank pulley and my car is an automatic so with your car being a manual you should get more power to the wheels.

here is a pic of my engine with the custome painted piping and valve cover all work is done by me in my garage it is quite simple I used a base coat of engine aluminum paint and then covered it with dupli-color metalcast paint. After painted bake in a oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes this instantly melts the paint to the metal and gives it a glossy look. Unfortunatly is does chip so be carefull but it is not that easy to chip.

That engine bay looks clean. I'm impressed. Good work on that. Is that a custom fuel rail that I see? What was the upcharge on the ball bearing? With such a large turbo it seems like its almost necessary to have the ball bearing upgrade. That was my thought. Do you have any more pics of the install? I'm looking forward to getting an nsport. Keep me updated on the stage 2. I'm starting to get prices on it from a couple shops.

Oh... I did not know that. I think that fact alone just convinced me to go nsport.

unfortunately no. they're not digitized and i don't have a digital camera or a scanner on me. which boost controller did you get with stage 2? my plan was to go with stage 1, buy 370cc injectors out of an sr20det that drop in, buy a boost controller, and then get an sds em2 standalone unit. it seems kind of weird that you're leaning out at such low boost. there are other guys running at 9lbs with no problems. is the deltagate causing any problems with overboosting?

Ballbaring turbo is NOT standard... Atleast my T04 B i received isn't.... I dont hit full boost till 4k, and you are hitting it at 2500 on a T4? I've never ridden in a car with a ball bearing, but I didn't know it makes THAT much of a difference... hmm...

i just emailed ben at accelerated concepts: he said 3495 + 400 with the ball bearing upgrade. i already have the fuel pump though so it'll probably be knocked down 100 or so. DaveEEE did your kit come with the tial wastegate?

why would a reputable kit maker use a deltagate anyways? by the way mv240 i've always wanted to say that i really like your ca18det.

DELTAGATES SUCK Everybody I know who's run one for any reasonable ammount of time has blown a motor due to it failing.

They just use a ****ty design, the Tial is SOOOO much better for just a little bit more money. There are nuts and bolts inside of a deltagate that DO NOT need to be there.... they just make the manufacturing process easier.... but when they get loose say goodbye to the motor......

at least that's my experience

Plus the Tial just looks so much cooler
