They sell flywheels for as much and even more expensive then a clutch and i was wondering if they even make that much of a difference for the price you pay for them and the shorter life span of your clutch???

a lighter flywheel won't shorten the life of your clutch.

do a search on flywheels to get info on the advantages and disadvantages of a lightened flywheel.

a lighter flywheel allows you to rev up faster, as it is lighter, only downfall is that between shifts, the rpm can drop too much, because the flywheel doesnt have as much inertia

Very good idea on a turbo motor as it will allow the motor rev faster and get the turbo to spool quicker. Should help with your launches and get more power down to the wheels. Drawbacks are the faster reductoin in engine speed, and a reductoin in torque. It will also make hill climbing much more difficult. May have to downshift where you didn't have to before.
