my clutch bearing is goin bad and my dad told me to go purchase a clutch kit. found some pretty good ones, but there's been a few popping up with the flywheel. is it necessary to get the flywheel when changing out ur bearings? or can i just leave the one i have in?

You need to at least resurface your stock one with a new clutch. Or you can just replace it, up to you.

i think i'll go with the new flywheel. should there also be anything else i should purchase aside from the clutch kit and flywheel when doing the swap?

Make sure the clutch kit contains:Clutch PlatePressure PlatePilot BearingThrow-out Bearingclutch/pp alignment tool..

If the clutch kit contains those parts and you get a flywheel that is all you need.

Also if you can talk your dad into spending a little extra money (like $100 or so) get a lightweight flywheel. It helps with acceleration.
