flywheel resurface when changing the clutch??

what exactly does this mean? do i need to take the flywheel to a shop or something. Im thinking about changing my clutch myself and everything looks do-able except for the resurfacing. can anyone explain?

Yeah, you are supposed to re-surface it (taking off some of the surface material). You could get away with just using sand paper and getting it down to a nice finish, but you will be better off having it done profesionally.

Yes, take it to a machine shop and get it resurfaced. You need a smooth surface for the clutch to be able to engage smoothly.

ok...what if i just want this to last at the most ...till the end of winter. Would i be good then...i only need a few more months then im gonna do a swap. i figured the engine can last through winter but the clutch is almost gone. So...would i need to resurface if i only need another few months???

not at all, get some 150 grit sandpaper and get sand it out. just try to get any high spots smooth.

its works best if you have an air grinder, then its a one minute job, but if your doing it by hand use a sanding block or a piece of wood, and smooth out the high spots or ridges.
