Hi all

I did a search on this topic and a few posts came up but nothing definitive.

I have an '03 coupe. I don't race, I don't do any kind of hardcore driving in the car though I do love driving the thing. I have about 91k miles on the car and am getting my engine rebuilt at the dealership due to bad piston rings and improperly seating valves (a whole other post!). As long as the engine is torn apart, I'm going to be replacing my clutch as it doesn't cost me any additional labor.

My intention was to go with stock everything as I don't need any performance upgrades given the way I drive the car. The dealer quoted me a pretty decent price for the stock clutch, however the stock flywheel is over $1100. The info I've gotten both from the dealership and from various forums is that the stock flywheel can't or shouldn't be resurfaced.

So I'm looking at an aftermarket flywheel. I've read that many aftermarket flywheels can create clutch chatter which I'd like to minimize. From reading the various forums it looks like the JDM Nismo flywheel is the least offensive when it comes to chatter, and it's also not terribly expensive with prices ranging from $450-$550 online. Do any of you have any experience with this flywheel?

Thanks in advance!

I had a lightweight competion clutch flywheel...and it chattered like crazy. I've heard the JWT one doesn't chatter, but I think it depends on the engine to the amount of chatter it will do. There was another flywheel (started with A...) that I've heard good things about. The nismo is heaver then most aftermarket ones and will probably be your best bet to limit chatter.
