Hey there,

First timer on here (both on the forum and fixing a car) if anyone could lend a hand.

Backstory- got a 1990 240SX with a KA24E that was sealed shut with rust. Needed a new block, got a D21 block that had been swapped into a 240SX previously. Got it rebored, new bearings, all the goods, but the crankshaft and flywheel was jacked so I had to use the old ones from the rusty engine which was in decent shape.

I got everything internally back together and sealed up, but when I went to put the flywheel on with the dust cover, the engine wouldnt turn freely. Come to find out the dust cover and the flywheel are touching. And it's not a slight hang, it's pretty significant because I tried grinding the one down a good ways and still no luck. Then for the hell of it I just put the flywheel on the crank to see how much clearance it would have, and it's slight - maybe half of the thickness of the dust cover itself, if that.

I tried the search function (and Google) but didnt really find anyone else with this problem. The flywheels appear to be very similar from the two engines as well. Is this a difference in crankshaft length between the 240SX and D21 blocks?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

CL
