My 1999 pathfinder needed a new clutch. I realized when I got inside the rear main seal had a small leak so I decided to address the issue while I have it open. I removed the flywheel and didn't think about marking it for replacement. I realize now that the crankshaft has an alignment hole without threads but the flywheel doesn't seem to have any markings or pin to match it up. I have watched several videos about how important it is to align it correctly but no one tells you how to do it if you don't have alignment marks on the flywheel. I guess if you get it wrong the error code will be a cam sensor error? I know flywheels on other vehicles will only go on one way but his one doesn't seem to have any indicators. I have looked through the FSM but don't see any specifics about reinstalling it. Any ideas? Does it matter or not?
Thanks for any help.
