Haven't been around much lately since I've been super busy with getting ready to move.

Was driving home last night on the freeway at around 2:30 AM when I saw some sparks flying up. Thought someone had tossed a cigarette butt out the window, but what it turned out to be was a fist sized rock that must have fallen off one of the trucks up ahead. Saw it briefly in the headlamps right before it hit the front of my V.

The impact was right in the well where the fog lights would go if mine had them (which it doesn't). Left a couple of gouges in the black plastic and cracked the cap over the hole. Could have been a lot worse, I suppose. At least it didn't hit any of the painted parts and wasn't high enough to break the windshield. Still sucks, though.

I guess it's time to install those fog lamps. Any suggestions as to which brand, and can they be wired to the parking lights?

I'd have to check the laws around here. I know you're not allowed to have ground effects or yellow headlights, but not sure about fog lights.

Yellow fog lights should be ok. In fact they do better in inclement weather, which--as you know--is common in the PNW. I don't think wiring to the parking lights is necessary. The may already be a hiring harness in place for the fog lights. There's been a few posts regarding installation, search and you should find them. To protect the fog lights from debris, you can get some Lamin-X sheets or similar product; cut to size and apply.

I would install the OEM kit from vertsaspeed or thenismoshop. As you have an SL it is prewired, so install the litghts, change the light stalk and you are good to go.

i would go with the kit from autopia on ebay if you have an S... really good kit, has a relay and all the wiring needed... i cut off the switch and took that wire and wired that to my parking lights, that way, whenever my parking lights are on, my fogs are on too... if you need help, [email protected] or just lemme know on here

Thanks. Think I'll get the kit from the Nismo shop, then. Replacing the betzel with the fog lamp ones will make it look new again.

I'm just glad it didn't hit the actual bumper and leave a big gouge in the painted part. That would have been a lot more expensive to fix.
