My car is in the NE and it has been brutally cold up here.

What is the proper ratio of distilled water and antifreeze for the NE?

System capacity is slightly less than 11 quarts, so technically you need 1.5 gallons of each. Check the ratio vs temp chart on the antifreeze bottle, I'll bet you can get by with one gallon of antifreeze and the balance distilled water. Spend the extra couple dollars and get the long life Prestone, it's red instead of green. If you can't get the block plugs out, you'll need a couple gallons extra of distilled water to do some repeat flushes.

I thought us nissan / Infiniti guys were supposed to stay away from the red AF. Isn't the green fill what's recomended??

It was my understading that if you have the cooling system flushed with a machine instead of just drained you don't have to remove the drain plugs. Please correct me if I'm wrong. As I'm plan to have this done in the next few K.
