I did a complete flush of the power steering fluid by connecting the return hose, the one that connects to the side of the resoviour, to a jug, turkey bastered the old fluid out of the resoviour, then continuously filling it with 12 oz bottles of royal purple Max EZ, all while i had a helper turn on the engine and turn the steering wheel lock to lock. Good thing i was careful becuase the resoviour sucks in fluid extremely fast. i replaced pretty much all of the old fluid as the return hose started spewing purple oil after a while. In all, it took 5 of the bottles, i barely had any left so i was cutting it close. During the test drive afterwards, the steering is improved, not by a ridiculous amount, but it was def noticable, but that might not mean much as i havent changed the Power Steering fluid for 90k miles and the old fluid was almost dark-brown/black. When i say "improved" i mean the steering was a bit easier, much smoother, imagine putting your hand on top of a bar of soap sitting on a table top, then turning your hand in a circular motion, thats how smooth it felt compared to my old fluid. I cant beleive i let the fluid last this long, i am going to start changing my other fluids i havnt touched since the 60k tune up like my transmission fluid and gear oil.
