Gotcha, sorry about that . . . I'm looking for a hard, flip up cover that fits flush inside the bed liner . . . I don't want anything that "spills over" the sides. I would also like it to be something that can be painted to match the HB.C-Kwik wrote:Any specific requirements or uses? There are soft and hard and flip up or roll up covers. Each may even have their own individual charactersitics (from one brand to the next). Providing more specifics abouot what you want from the cover may help us answer your question better as there are many many covers out there.
Yeah, I thought about that. I guess I'll have to call and see what they have . . . Thanks agian for all the replies.C-Kwik wrote:You might try checking your bed dimensions and seeing if there is another truck that might have the same dimensions. It's a long shot, but who knows.
Im not too worried about the cargo space . . . I don't carry much in the bed anyways . . . never have.jEzTeR wrote:The role up kind are much better, because you can fit tall stuff in your truck still. Thoes in the pics don't allow for much cargo.
I definitely understand where everyone is going with the practicality issue, but I'm just not worrried about it when it comes to the HB . . . If I ever need to haul anything I have another truck at my disposal. So for the the HB it comes down to what I think looks best . . . Thank you for all the constructive replies though. Very much appreciated.C-Kwik wrote:I had actually thought so too. When I bought my Titan, it came with a very nice Leer fiberglass tonneau. I loved the look it gave the truck, but was not practical for anything that wasn't lower than the top of the bed. I ended up selling it and got a Bakflip cover. It has some issues, though, the manufacturer posted details about some changes they made to the new generation of the Bakflip that addresses the problems in another thread here. In any case, the fact that I can flip it up to the cab allows me to retain almost 100% use of the bed, and if I absolutely need the few extra inches of space, I can remove the cover with 4 bolts and carry it myself. The big problem with fiberglass covers is that they are rather heavy and awkward to carry alone and require a sizable space to store it while it is off the truck.
I loved the idea of a roll-up hard tonneau, but installing one meant the box would cover the utilitrack rail on the front of the bed. Of course, this shouldn't be an issue for you, so it might be a good option...albeit an expensive one.
Here you go metrix . . . I pm'd you the link too, but I wanted to put it up here in case anyone else wanted to check it out . . .xmetrix wrote:If you find a manufacturer of one, please let me know. As for now, I'm in the process of making my own.
