Alright so I'm taking my Z in tomorrow to get all the fluids flushed and changed. I wanted to know what everyone uses as per all there fluids...what I've gathered so far from reading forums and such, this is what I'm gonna go with or what I've already bought:

Motor Oil: Mobil 1 (how many quarts you think I need?)Motor oil Filter: K&N Gold

transmission Fluid: 2 x Redline MTL mixed with 2 x Redline MT-90Differential Gear Lube: Redline 75w90

Power Steering: Suggestions PLEASEBrake Fluid: Suggestions PLEASE

If you have any suggestions please let me know, and let me know what you use in all of these areas.

ThanksMatthew

K&N's oil filter is somebody else's filter with a nut welded on and a K&N sticker. I'd go with a WIX or a Purolator Pure One. Less money and a better filter.

If you're gonna spend the money on Redline in the transmission and rearend, you might as well go all Redline. But I do have to tell you that unless you have a ton of miles, there is no reason to flush the power steering fluid. As for brakes, I would go with DOT 4 regardless of what brand you get.

BTW, the factory recommended manual transmission fluid is 75/85. We have had a customer complain of a notchy shift with 80/90 in it, so it's pretty sensitive to what you put in there. The factory fluid is synthetic as well, so it lasts a lot longer than you may be thinking.

On the rearend, you may want to check around and see what everybody else is running. My car (not a Nissan) recommends 75/90 in the rearend, but everybody on the planet runs 75/140 in them. If you do a lot of high speed driving or extreme stress, the extra viscosity when the rearend gets hot helps keep things lubricated. Might be worth looking in to.

I'm pretty sure the 350Z like all power steering equipped Z's before it uses dextron ATF for power steerin, you'll want to verify with your owners manual

brake fluid, unless you plan to purge the whole system to covert to DOT5 silicoln just stick with the Dot3 Dot 4 stuff

The reason why I say power steering fluid is because the power steering pump is gone and I have to replace it. Otherwise I would not bother. I did just buy the car, so it would put my mind at ease knowing when all the fluids were changed and with what kind of fluids. This way at least I could start fresh, and not have any surprises down the road.

As for the Oil filter...I was going to get Mobil 1 but they were sold out, so my other choices were Fram and K&N...and I sure as s*** was not gonna buy Fram...I'm kind of in the testing stage right now, so I'm thinking next oil change im gonna try Royal Purple oil, and maybe one of the filters you suggested.

As for the transmission fluid, a lot of people on here and other forums are recommending that mix. I am actually having a problem with a little bit notchyness in a couple of the gears now, and I was hoping maybe replacing the fluid would smoothen it out

You're right and wrong. The K&N is just a Mobil 1 filter with the nut on it. However, the M1 is probably one of the best filters you can buy.

^^^ agreed. I also think that the Mobil 1 is an awesome filter. The purolator pure one has more filtration surface but that also makes it a worry that it does not flow as well.

I go by this study http://www.knizefamily.net/min....html

for my reasonings.

If you read through the whole thing of all the ones tested he actually recommends the Mobil 1 oil filter at the end.

i use all mobil 1 for oil and oil filter... works fine for me and the filter is only $8-$10 which isn't bad compared to some that are equally good that are priced for over $12... They claim it filters 99.8% as where everyone else is like 98.6% (or something like that)....
