Hey guys...I am doing the front and rear differentials, the transmission, and the transfer case over the weekend on my 2000 QX4, and would like to know what everyone recommends for fluid for those.
Do I need to add any FM (friction modifier) to the front or rear diff's? What type of fluid is best? How much will I need?
What type of Trans fluid am I to use, and what do I use for the transfer case? I have the AWD electronic switch 4X4 system.
Thanks SO much for all the help with this.

Hey guys...I searched and searched...no specific answers at all.
I did find that the 2000 QX4 takes either 75W90 diff fluid OR 80W90, but does it need FM? Also...what type of transfer case fluid am I to use? And I couldnt find out the type of Transmission fluid either...DexIII, DEXIV or what?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Most information about fluids, quantities, and torque specs can be found in the general information thread.

Use any 75W-90 GL-5 gear oil for your differentials. Most contain LS additive already. You can get Mobil 1 LS 75W-90 for cheap at Advance Auto if you order online using discount codes then pick up in store. You'll need 5 quarts of the fluid, and I'd suggest getting a fluid pump too to ease filling the diffs.

Use Nissan Matic D (preferable) or any fluid that states Dexron III / Matic D compatibility for the transfer case and the transmission.
