i have a 90 300zx that wont go into overdrive. When i do the transmission diagnostics this is what happens. Gives me this code
8th flash longer than others = Fluid temperature sensor is disconnected or A/T control unit power source circuit is damaged.
I have replaced the coolant temp sensor that is on the front of the engine near the radiator, this did nothing. It shifts from 1st 2nd and 3rd like a dream and sounds perfect. Just never goes into overdrive. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's likely referring to a temp on the transmission as a form of protection. http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/ ... &total=194 or download a FSM

i was under the impression they do not go into overdrive if they are not hot enough. drove it for about 5 miles ran the diagnostics and got that code. Let the car sit for about an hour and just ran the check to see if the code came back and it didnt.

Yes, plenty if you search Google.

All the information you need to fix your current issue is in the FSM, however.
