just bought a 01 I infinity with 118K Planning to change transfer case and front and rear diff. any suggestions on fluid type which are good but not as expensive as Nissan brand ( I know I need the lsd fluids) Also plugs are probably origioned. Runs great but I think they need changing to be safe. There is a utube set of videos showing the project but I have been told that the proper way to do the job is to remove the intake. I would like to avoid this. The utube vidoes are difficult enough tasks for me. Any thoughts or experience to share. This truck is a beast. Where I live in western North Caroline a 4x4 is required.thanks

It's been a while, but I know the intake manifold does not need to come off, but I believe the Throttle Body (TB) does need to be removed to get at the plug underneath. This provides a good opportunity to change the IACV gasket on it (unless you KNOW it's been replaced) and clean it with TB cleaner and a tooth brush. I suggest you switch the back coil with the front to spread the heat wear.

There's no question spark plug #6 is really tough to get at, but that's why Nissan supplied the special tools needed to remove it. Did you check under the right rear seat cushion to see if the original factory tool kit is still in your vehicle? I still have mine and it really made quick work of what otherwise might have taken a lot of time and experimentation to complete. As far as transfer case fluid Valvoline synthetic ATF works great and meets the requirements.

Thanks, My kit is missing. What is in the kit besides the lug wrench and jack parts? Seems like the hardest plug would be the one under the throttle body. In the pictorial the air idle control valve is removed, which supposedly allows room to remove the plug. Looks tight though
