Just purchased a 2004 G35 sedan and would like to perform as many of the 60k maintenance items myself including changing the transmission and differential fluids. I can't seem to locate a dipstick/fill hole for the trans fluid. Do I drain and refill directly at the transmission just like the diff? Do I need any special tools for changing the fluids?

I normally do all of my own stuff, but with the transmission, I would advise taking it to NISSAN and getting them to flush it. They will get it all out as opposed to getting some of it out.

Recently took my daughters 00 MAX. They charge 109 for the coolant and 139 for the transmission. I got them to do both for $200 out-the-door.....ask if they have any coupon books!!!

Plus, any warranty claims that you might have regarding the transmission would need to be backed by proof that you did so...receipts of purchasing fluids doesn't count.

just to confirm, you have a manual or auto transmission?

I have an automatic transmission, and only have about 4.5k left on the warranty, so not really concerned about that. Also, I have heard bad things about flushing your transmission, and like to do my own work. I can save $100 or so doing it myself.
