So Im pretty sure the alternator is bad because Im getting continuity between the output stud to the body of the alternator, but what do you guys think about this wild fluctuation in output voltage with everything connected? Has anyone ever seen fluctuation like this? Even if there wasnt a continuity issue, this alone wouldnt be normal, correct? :wtf2:

I thought maybe Im going crazy and hooked up to the output stud of my '97 QX4 and the output of the QX4 was rock solid at 14.4V - no fluctuation at all..

**The PFC shows a constant 14.4V on the hand controller(worthless?).. This is my multimeter grounded and hooked up to the output stud with the positive lead
