I have a 2003 G35 Sedan and was wondering if anyone has ever heard a Flowmaster on a G35. I need a pretty inexpensive fix for my muffler w/o purchasing a whole exhaust system (although I want to) and I am looking to purchase the muffler. If anyone has any advice about this or any other solution that will work please let me know? Thanks!

I believe HKS has the rear section of there cat-back available...That would sound better than the flowmaster. Without a V8, flowmaster sounds like crap.

This might be a better choice for ya:

I STRONGLY recommend Magnaflow. It has the best exhaust tone.

Here is a list of the exhaust systems I tried on my truck.

1> Stock exhaust manifolds, 2.25" pipe, dual cats into single 3" pipe stock muffler and resonator

2> Dual 2.5" pipe after stock cats into dual flowmaster 50 series, dual 2.5" pipe out the back

3> Pace Setter Long tube headers, no cats, purple hornies glass packs no pipe between glass packs and headers or after glass packs

4> same as above but run dual 3" pipe out to passenger side right before rear tire, locate glass packs to under passenger seat :-)

5> same as above but replace glass packs with magnaflow.

Flowmasters are about the worst choice for a muffler. They are very loud and flow poorly. The magnaflows and Dynomax Ultra Flo SS mufflers are my first choices.

I actually have some flowmasters on my car at the moment (turn down tips/dumps) ...and I love the sound!!!. But I do think it could sound better...kinda like the flowmasters are the weakest link in my whole exhaust system. One of these day's I'll record a sound clip and post.

Maybe someone should sticky a sound clip/various exhaust systems post (wink wink) I like videos/sound clips
