Just wondering if anyone has or knows someone or have any info about flowmaster muffler on a N/A KA. I have no cat, 2.5 inch piping, no resinator and I was looking for some kind of quiet muffler. Someone recommended me flow master. Anyone know if they are quiet? If so, which one?

Check their website - flowmastermufflers.com , they have information on all their mufflers as well as relative "loudness" . I think the 70 series is pretty quiet.

Post sound clips if you end up doing this, I've kinda always wanted to hear a flowmaster on a KA..

from personal experience no cat and straight pipe leading to a restrictive muffler sounds bad, kinda raspy, like a 510 or old carbed car.

I know its not the same but... my friend's FC (non-turbo) with no cat, no resinator and has some HKS exhaust and its SOOOO QUIET. I want mine to be like that but im afraid I will waste my money on HKS exhaust if its gonna be loud... I need really quiet exhaust.... even if its not flow master. Someone help please.

flowmasters are not quiet. they are not as loud as the coffee can mufflrs and they sound better, maybe even give you more power. kinda big though. maxflow muffler sounds good too.

hey, I like the way my flowmaster sounds. Mine isnt too loud, though it can start to drone on the highway. It kinda sounds hollow. I have a cat though, along with the flowmaster resonator finished off with the import series flowmaster. No tip, single 2.5, i think, center outlet. I recomend spraying an extra layer of exhaust paint on before you install it though. The odds are againts you on creating a quiet exshaust system with 2.5 inch piping, no resonator and not cat.

Flowmaster makes some of the most restrictive "performance" cans ever made. Save yourself a headache and get a Borla or Magnaflow, or better yet, a BRM

i drove a 240 with a flowmaster exhaust once. it was pretty quiet. but i doubt it was 2.5 inch pipe and im pretty sure he had a cat on it. and it felt pretty slow to me.. but that could have been the massive sub box in the back.

I think they make 'hush power' mufflers that are pretty quiet...not sure. You might want to check their website.

I had a flowmaster hung under the back of my 240 for several years- it was just patched onto the stock exhaust with the only mods being the cat was removed. It was pretty mellow. Louder than stock, but not by a whole lot. The stock muffler was toast and I had the flowmaster laying around so I welded it on. What can I say? It sounded OK. Not great, just Ok. Unfortunately, if you want it quiet, you are gonna have to live with a certain amount of restriction.
