Florida IS the California of the east coast. I'm just happy that these smog things will never end up in Georgia. There are WAY too many people with old muscle, big trucks, and just dirty redneck cars for any emissions crap to ever be voted in... unless the whole state turns into ATL. When emissions laws come to the south, that will be the day pigs start flying.

I got a call the other day from my buddy, and he was like "hey Adrian, don't go on Moody st. in Cypress, they got a smog check point set up there. There was already a Corvette on the ramp, and a few more lined up"
its either a fix it ticket or a tow...depending on how severe the modifications/violations are. and its also dependent of local laws (San Mateo county vs LA County for example).

i got the privellege of avoiding the tow but the reward of an expensive fine, upwards of $2K. it included community service, probational driving, state referee, and a curfew. OH SNAP!

yeah, it looks like construction on the road...

till you get to the very end and find motor cycle cops and cops on feet telling the modified vehicles to pull over to the side of the road where the portable smog check ramp is.

they merge all lanes into 1 lane, so you can't get away, and if you do manage to bust a u-turn, the motor cycle cops strikes, like wolf on sheep that strayed from the herd

^^ no joke... we have these at random streets

I've heard of that. Glad to see our tax dollars are hard at work screwing us over.

Are cars that are 25+ years old still exempt from all this nonsense in California and Florida?

They're 100% DOT and EPA exempt federally, right? That should get them out of this debacle.

Justin, would they really nail you for a supercharged LS1? It's still the engine that originally came in the car, right?

The car has to be 1975 or older and this INCLUDES the engine. So 73 datsun with ka-t is a nono.

Swapped engines can only be legal if it comes from the same year as the chassis or newer. (ie 92 240sx KA swapped to 97 240sx KA)

Guys are legally smogging FC and FD's with LS1's by retaining ALL the smog equipment. Then going to a smog referee and signing the car off. Engine has to be same year or newer as chassis.

Hash: I can pass the sniffer with my supercharged c5, but my smog pump isn't hooked up, I have full headers, the D1SC procharger does NOT have a carb number(the smaller P1SC has one), and I've got a K&N Oil Breather cap. I was running straight pipes, but went to Hi-Flow cats to quiet down the car(sleeper status FTW), and get rid of my guilty concience. She burns MEGA clean though. Cleaner than stock. Gotta do my part for the environment you know....

Edit: Filled her up at 3.299 a gallon. Cost me 54 bucks to top it off(was on reserves). Think it's time I get some video footage for some of the folks here. You can watch me spin the tires at 70 maybe.

Thanks for clarifying.

''Florida is the second fastest-growing state in the union with respect to the annual increase of new greenhouse gas emissions,'' the governor's draft order states, adding ``immediate actions are available and required to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in Florida.''

Yeah this is true. Miami is Cuba, Port St. Lucie is New York......pushing Floridians away from their birth place. I think they should put a limit on who can get in the state no-matter where the hell you come from.

Looks like its time to make my car a track slut.

Texas is still fairly nice although I've seen (and been through) two mobile smog stations with cameras. No front plate pwns but I'm thinking it's high time I invest in some high flow cats.
