Florida has 7/20 entries!!!
My home town is #7.

Unemployment: up 5.2%
Employment: down 12.3%
Gross Metropolitan Product: down 5.0%
Home prices: down 55.3%

Palm Bay respresent ::taps chest, points to sky::

We should all pool money and buy a whole neighborhood of doomed real estate and build an awesome track.

I would only pitch in if someone killed all the mosquitoes and short chicks that wear 5 different colors with yellow yoga pants and paint their toenails hot pink.

The slide show photos were an awesome mix of natural disasters and boobies.

St Louis might have made the list if it didn't already go through its hardest period in the 1970s and 1980s. Nowhere left for this town to go but up, mostly.

Walking around Sarasota I saw some real estate offices with ads in the window. Spacious condos by the Gulf for less than six figures!

Eh, the list doesn't take into account where they were when they started. Example (largely ficticious): Phoenix was the modern day metropolis. Everything was awesome with 0% unemployment. It has dropped somewhat in the past 5 years to 5% unemployment, 7% jobless rate.

That still makes it better than Detroit (also fictitious numbers): Started with 30% unemployment and 42% jobless rate. Over the past 5 years, it has only declined 1% in each sector, leaving it at 31% unemployment and 43% jobless rate.

Based on the comparison criteria I saw, Detroit would not have made that list, and Phoenix would have.

I can't find a freakin' job either. Unemployment here is up around 10.4%. Surrounding areas are no better.

There's this huge piece of land that used to be a neighborhood. There's roads going everywhere and it looks like it could make a great track. If only we could afford to have nice things
