OK I was given a floor mounted high beam switch, I was wondering if theres a way to install it into my 240. It has three wires Tan, black and green. i don't know what kind of car its out of.

The wires are labeled "A"tan. "B" black and "C" green. any one have any ideas on how I can make is this work.

EDIT: there are no makring on it at all. so it could be a from a ford dodge or chevy.

Dubble EDIT: My car is a '92 240sx 5 speed.

Are you trying to get this switch to power your high-beams?

If so, it shouldn't be "too" difficult.

Basically, if you look at it, 1 must be ground, 1 is probably power "from" and 1 is power "to" when the button is pressed.

Ground the black 1, provide power to one of the colored ones, and press the button and check w/ a multimeter.

Once you figure that out, the highbeam wire, is 1 of the 3 wires connected to the headlamp. Easiest way may be just to connect it directly (fused if you must or trace it back to where it is in the fuse box). To find the highbeam wire, unplug the harness, turn on your lights, multimeter everything, then turn on your highbeams - the wire that changes voltage is the highbeam wire.

I hope that's what you were looking for.

what he said should work, I did somthing similer to this on my Tempo cept I wired it so my daytime running lights were killed and the highbeams could come on with the low beams for more brightness.....the getting rid of the daytime lights was so I could leave the engine running and the heat on to go parking during the winter
