Hi, I know this was probably answered many times over but I've looked all over and I can't seem to find a definitive answer compared to what I see with my 2012 Altima 2.5s.

I'm looking to use a floor jack for the front end of my car to place safety jacks.

Here's some pictures of what I'm looking at:

I'm fairly sure it's the little "bump" behind the plastic splash guard thing in the first picture, but I'm not confident enough to try it.

I also found these resources:
http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/2007 ... e-003.html

http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/2007-2 ... point.html

Would those work?

And of course the service manual:
http://www.nialtima.com/lifting_point-408.html

but again, I'm not quite confident enough to pin point exact points. As you could probably tell, I'm a complete newbie at this so please be nice :D

The paulstravelpictures link shows an improper place to put any kind of jack. The diagram(s) from the service manual show the correct places.

When I first got my car (brand new, special ordered), it had already been lifted improperly, in the place suggested by the paulstravelpictures site. The damage was pretty minor, but the paint was scraped off in a few places. Here's a picture:

In my picture, the place with the yellow jack stand is also the place that a shop should lift it with a whole-car lift, and is what the service manual recommends.

But for a hydraulic floor jack, the proper place doesn't show up in my picture above, and it also doesn't show up in your pictures. Here's a picture of the front spot (the green arrow). You can use either the left or right spot like this. They're kind of hard to reach - pretty far back from the front end of the car.

A correction - I think it does show up in your first picture. It's the heavy metal piece that arches over the exhaust pipe.

I jack the front of my Altima using bump behind the front splash guard that you mention. That groove in the first picture leads right too it and it looks like a brown circle in your picture.

This point has some pretty beefy structure to it.
