Hey all,

Well, the saga with this fukkin car continues. What went from a hesitation issue has now led to flooding at startup. KA24E 89 motor.

Before, my car used to start like a champ. Even after I let the car sit for weeks at a time, when I went to fire it up, it would start IMMEDIATELY. One day it flooded at startup so I pulled the fuel pump fuse, cranked the car until it started. Then I put the fuse back in and cranked it again. The car fired up with a little sputter but then worked fine. Well, recently, it floods EVERY TIME

All of the following work. I tested them on my firend's 240

MAFFuel pumpInjectorsCoolant temp sensorplugswiresdist caprotorcoilO2 sensorFuel filter

Any ideas??

I've never experienced such a finneky car before in my life!! It only has 144K miles, too.

Bump the base idle using the ECU or using the fast idle? I already tried the ECU. It didn't affect it at all.

Do you happen to have a pic of the fast idle?? I can check it.

A few weeks ago when the car would start fine, the car would not idle over 1200 rpms. It was amazing. The car would start up SO fast. Now, nothing.

I am VERY close to just getting the SR swap. This freakin motor is just pizzing me off. I don't want to waste anymore money on it.

Thanks for the help.

the idle adjustment is near the back of the intake manifold near the bottom from the passenger side. it is a screw inside of a hole.

Oh, I think I know what you are talking about. Which direction should I turn it??

Just curious, why would the car start fine and then all of the sudden start flooding? It wasn't progressive either. It was working fine, and then bam, it floods.

either the fast idle valve or idle air control valve are not opening properly or the passage for the air is restricted by carbon build up.
