So i finally got around to throwing in all my upgrade parts. Socketed ECU with Eprom from Dr Drift in Australia, Z32 MAF, 444cc (cleaned and flow tested). Ive tripple checked the MAF wiring, opened the ECU made sure all the pins are seated correctly and still nothing.

Tried starting it, it would stumble never running right. Give it any throttle and it dies. Will not start again untill i clean off the plugs.

I think the Eprom is not right, i am waiting to hear from my tuner (probably won't hear from him till January). So in the mean time i want to throw around some ideas.

This guys does this for a living so untill i talk to him i have to assume he sent the proper Eproms, he sent 4 eproms none work. So i am thinking its either a Eprom issue or ECU. ECU is showing 55 and is a #98

What do you guys think?

UPDATE

My tuner thinks its MAF related, so i checked voltages(DC) going to the pins at the MAF housing and at the CA-N62 harness splice and i got 0v's. This was done with the ignition in the "on" position. When i turn off the ignition it jumped to 6.5v's.

So with everything working prior to swapping and proper MAF wiring triple checked, it must be the ECU right?

Im having the same problem with my car right now. N62, 450CC injectors, ECU tuned and just installed an SAFC II. I have gone through everything and when the MAF is unplugged in will start/ idle fine but will be in limp mode. When I plug the MAF in it wont start at all. I even tried correcting it with the SAFC.

on the safc the sensor should be, hotwire, then 02 IN and 07 OUT for a z32 maf

No, stock every prior to the swap.

I got an email from my tuner this morning giving me what all the voltages should be at all the pins. Im going to re-check everything this weekend once it warms up. -20*C is to damn cold to be outside with a multimeter checking wires.

Ok my tuner says the voltages for each wire should be:

B=0.5-1.0VC/D=GRDE=12V

I get:

B=.02VC/D=GRDE=12V

Still getting no codes (55 only)

What would be causing the signal wire to be getting such low voltage?

Drift does good stuff.Is there no ohm meter test to check an AFM ?Isn't it possible to install the chip backwards ?

Yes i have access to an ohm meter, however i am testing the voltages at the pigtail not actually at that MAF.

The 1st chip was installed by Sam when the ECU came over, same issues.

Any other ideas? Im leaning towards pooched ECU.

Thank god i finally got answers!! Bought a socketed ECU of a fellow board member here and and boo-ya she runs. First time in close to 3 months ive heard that turbo spool. I now will swap in in the chips as necessary to see which one give me the best AFR.
