Ok so I just bought 2 M35x from an auction, one is wrecked( ended up having a cracked bell housing and block), the other is flooded. the wrecked one has a key the flooded one doesn't. Im trying to power up the flooded one. What all do I need to swap from the wrecked one. I tried the BCM, and nothing. I did some research and appears theres a intelligent key unit, so ill try that, what else though?

I would probably just go ahead and swap everything... ECU, BCM, IPDM , Intelligent Key Unit, maybe even the key slot and the keyless entry receiver. Any idea how bad it was flooded?

so far i changed all of that plus PDM. I was doing reseach and i suppose the last thing I need to do has something to do with the steering lock.

Are you referring to the ignition cylinder when you say steering lock?
I'd suggest just replacing the entire steering column. You can refer to the Factory Service Manual linked around the forum, but if I recall, it might involve drilling out the ignition cylinder safety screws.

Can't help you with what you're trying to do, but I was wondering if you had any tips on the BCM. I'm assuming the Y51 and Y50 are in similar locations...was it hard to do?

Yeah I actually found a locksmith who will program some keys for 60 bucks so i decided to stop swapping parts and just do that.

The BCM was not hard to do. its right behind the glove compartment. If its same as y50 than its a piece of cake. Same steps to swap the cabin filter, first black box you see, its thats one. 2 bolts and 3 plugs

Yeah I got to it. The Y51 is four plugs, two of which are HARD to do.
