I have placed this on the mechanic's forum, but, knowing I risk the wrath of Maxnis, et al, I will take the chance and also put it here, running up against a time lim fac, and needing the expertise of those here.

I tried the search thing (I readily admit to being IT challenged!), knowing I have read previous posts regarding this matter, but could find nothing. Vehicle started immediately, earlier this am, and I let it idle for about 10 minutes, but now refuses to start. For a number of reasons, vehicle has not been regularly used for a couple of years, but will now be taken back to east coast and on down to T-3 for extensive PM. Last driven in June and performed flawlessly!

Thanks!

Depending on local temp 10 minutes at idle should be enough to move ecu from cold start enrichment but that depends on the time and temp after shut off.

When one suspects flooding the cure is to floor throttle hold it WOT, THEN, turn key on, then start the crank process, as this signals ecu you want to cut off injectors to clear a flood.

Assuming that the engine is still turning over, i.e. not hydrolocked or skipped a beat on the timing chain, the fix for flooding is to fully depress the gas pedal (ECU shuts off fuel flow) while cranking the engine. Have a strong battery and be patient as it may take a minute or two. Did you smell raw fuel when you turned it off or while trying to restart? Did she idle OK for the 10 minutes you had her running?

Thanks Guys!

Battery is BRAND NEW Interstate. No fuel smell (I have never had any noticeable leaks in engine bay), and one of things going down to T-3 for is to have all under hood rubber replaced having bought all of it (I hope!) from IOS when Joe was having a sale a few years back! She idled perfectly for those ten minutes.

I will go out and try your advice, hooking up a boooster pack, just in case!

Again, thanks!

That procedure got it cleared, after abput 1 1/2 mins cranking.

Again, thanks! (I printed out your procedures, sticking them in glove box along with those Heath put on here LOTS of years ago, about fine tuning hvac unit, something I have often used, the vehicle not really getting used as it should be)!

You may want to find what caused the flooding in the first place. Make sure it was not because of a failed "O" ring on one of the injectors. In this scenario, the flooding will happen again and you will run the risk of hydrolocking and damaing the engine.....

Understand. Should be able to get down to T-3 after the first of the year for - as I said - major amount of P/M.
