Hi, relative new member from Houston. I thought my Z32 was safe in the garage but it got Harvey'd with about 8" of water. The exhaust got soaked but intake stayed above water.

Carpet is soaked, seats are growing funky mold, but my biggest worry is the ECU. It was submerged about halfway. The car doesnt power up when the key is turned.

Whats my best move? The car is an N/A with turbo injectors, headers and I think a socketed ECU with custom tune.

Sucks to hear sir, you need to let the car dry out very well (at least so there is no moisture in the electrical system, wiring can get waterlogged) were the battery terminals attached to the battery through the flood?

Yes the battery was connected through it all. I havent really been able to look but will have to start chasing the main power feed and see where it tripped. Ive got the t tops off and fans to try and dry it out but we have all the salvaged household items piled up in the garage so no room to work for a while. Just wondeing if i need to pull the ecu and send it off now.

The ecu is very likely toast, I may have an extra ecu that you could borrow to see if you can get it to turn over and as luck would have it I'm in Houston.

I hope you and yours made it out ok. Sorry to hear about the z. Honestly, it sounds like a total loss; but, best case scenario, the main fuse blew before any current could short out other components. If it's only the ecu, you might get away with drying everything out and replacing the ecu. Although, due to the 370cc injectors, you might need a specifically tuned ecu to get things going. It may still fire up with a stock 270 program, though. I don't think it was salt water, right? So chances of revival are a bit better.

Decided it was best to cut my losses and get some garage space back for home repairs. One day ill look for another but for now it found a good home.

The crew at Houston Z is going to strip it down for racing, drifting, and general horseplay.

Good to hear some survived out there. Still kicking myself for not putting it up on jackstands, but never thought water would ever get that high at my place. Hell just running it over some 2X4s might have saved it, but live and learn.
